RARE Sankyo Seiki ST-40 (c. 1976) AC/DC Portable Cassette Tape Recorder. Includes AC power cord and new, sealed 90-minute tape.
Sankyo Seiki (or Sankyo) was a leader in development of cassette deck mechanisms and direct-drive motors produced for other OEM brands. Sankyo produced few products under their own name, but when they did, they were built to last.
This one is functional as intended with a new drive belt, light cleaning, rubber reconditioning and light lubrication. Despite its robust quality build, we're at a loss to explain the broken FF piano button at far right, but that does not interfere with its operation-strictly cosmetic. The device has not been calibrated, and FF can be a little finicky getting started.
