The M50 is our newest hi-end drum damper that adds 1-2 db if natural compression, acts as a gate effect with harder hits and can be taken off easily with the center magnet for tuning or for a certain song. IF YOU WANT A DEAD DRUM THIS IS NOT FOR YOU. Engineered to keep the shell of the drum vibrant and dampen in a punchy and clear way: - keeping the good ring and getting rid of the bad. IMPORTANT drummers should make sure to move it around to 7-10 different spots until the sweet spot is found. Here at the shop, we feel the M50 is awesome in that it doesn't alter the tone of your drum, and that it just targets the bad ring. The weight is made to extend out into the drum head in a predetermined length to target the bad ring while keeping the open shell sound of your wood or metal drum. The M50 is engineered to control the resonance without sacrificing the brightness of the drum and will look like it belongs with the chrome metal finish to match drum hardware. It also presents 50g of weight on the head (more than tape, plastic etc.) which helps shorten the LOW frequency hum while keeping the drum bright and open. Remember the M50 will fit any drum size; (8",9,10,12,13,14,- for floor toms we still recommend the Snareweight M80) Dampen in a snap or disengage even faster with the on/off magnet feature. Again if you want a dead drum, this one is NOT for you. Works with triple flange hoops, die cast, angel hoops, true hoops, brass hoops, and 1/4" wood.
